Saturday 9: Tell Her No

1. When was the last time that you had to tell someone that you loved, that the answer was no? Yesterday when I told my mom that no, I wasn't riding with Richard.

2. When was the last time you visited a hospital? I was hospitalized in March for an upper respiratory infection.

3. If you were to start a club, what would the subject matter be, and what would you name it? I have no idea. I don't really have time to start a club.

4. Have you ever hit someone of the opposite sex? yes, playfully.

5. What's the first thing you notice about the preferred sex? It's different things for each guy. Some have goregeous eyes, others have great hair or nice arms. It just depends.

6. What really turns you on? A deep, sexy voice.

7. What was your biggest mistake? Oh, I can't talk about that today. It's coming back to bite me in the ass already...

8. Tell us something totally random about yourself. I tend to get along better with males versus females.

9. Has anyone ever said you looked like a celebrity? No, but I was once told I sound like Britney Spears on the phone.

Today Just Wasn't My Day

I've been overly emotional all day. It doesn't help that I'm on my period (sorry male readers!) or the fact that said period is late for August/ early for September. I don't know how to look at it. I was pretty irregular in my teenage years and somewhat irregular in my early adulthood, but I've been pretty regular for the last 2 or 3 years until now. I usually get my period every month around the 20th or 22nd. It didn't show up in August, but it decided to show up last night on the 9th of September. So, I'm either 18-20 days late or 11-13 days early. It doesn't sound good either way I look at it, does it? I didn't think so...

Richard hurt my feelings today. He has left to take the boys to see their mom, but I didn't know that they were going this weekend until Sarah was gone to go pick Melodie and Zack up from school. He said he didn't know until about 9:30 this morning that he was going, but Sarah says he told her last night. It was said it wasn't definite until this morning, but regardless he waited until about an hour before he left to tell me he was going. It hurts my feelings because I don't have my own car right now and I won't be able to do anything about that until around the 1st of 2011 when I get my income tax return and 2nd semester student loan check. The only way I can get back up to Tennessee to see my family and get more of my belongings is if I ride with him when he takes the boys. Granted, he wasn't going all the way to Tennessee this time. The boys' mom was meeting him in Asheville and she wasn't driving, she was getting a ride to meet him. So, no extra room for me. I called my mom to see if she could meet me in Asheville, but my brother has an away football game tonight and she was afraid we'd be on the interstate when he called for a ride. If I had had more notice, arrangements could have been made. Or if he didn't want me to ride this time, he should have just said so. He thinks I'm being childish, but he's not seeing it from my point of view. Not to mention the fact that if the situation were reversed, he'd be upset with me and chewing my ass. Why are males so double standard?

Gotta Take the Good with the Bad

It's been an eventful day. I've cried, I've laughed and I've wanted to scream. Yes, I've been an emotional roller coaster.

I was let go from my job this morning due to the fact that the don't have any hours to give me. They originally hired me to replace someone that was supposed to be leaving, but then this person decided not to leave. They've tried to squeeze me in a few hours here and there, but apparently their budget has been cut enough to where they can't do so anymore. It's not anyone's fault, but it is a sucky situation nonetheless.

I guess it's a good thing that my student loan check should be here before the month ends. I'll have enough with that to pay up through the end of this year on my share of the bills. Downside to that is I won't have very much in reserve for necessities, etc. I'm looking for another job, but I had a hard enough time finding the one I just lost. Mom suggested that I file for unemployment since I was let go due to lack of hours, so I did that this afternoon. Hopefully it won't take too long to hear something.

Sarah and I had class again tonight. I had another quiz and scored 100%! If I keep going the way I'm going, I'll pass this class with an A.

We came home from class just as the kids were going to bed. I was sitting in my room checking my Facebook when Bryson starts screaming and crying. He comes into my room and tells me he's got a rock stuck up his nose. I have him tilt his head back just enough so that I can see in there, and sure enough there is a rock in this baby's nose. I hold the opposite nostril closed and tell him to blow his nose, as I attempt to fish the rock out with my pinky. No such luck. I had to take him into Sarah's bathroom, where she had to fish it out with a pair of tweezers. Oh, the things little boys will shove up their noses!

I Think I've Got My Groove Back!

Sarah and I each had class tonight. We're not in the same class, but our classes are held on the same nights and on the same hall. However, I'm just at the beginning of my program and she's been at this for a little bit. I do have the advantage of the fact that she's already taken the courses that I'm enrolled in this semester, but I try to only ask for her help if I'm truly stuck. I must be doing something right though, because I took two quizzes in Biology tonight and I scored 100% on both of them. I'm so excited! I'm starting to feel confident that I will pass this class with an A. I definitely don't want anything less than a B.

Even better news is that my financial aid has finally been processed. I've been approved for the Pell Grant and it's already been credited to my account. Hopefully that means that my student loan isn't far behind.

The Sunday Seven

Name seven important lessons you’ve learned about the reality of life.

1. There's no such thing as "free" anything. One way or another, you're paying for it.
2. Life is not fair. It never has been and never will be.
3. It's okay to make mistakes as long as you learn from them.
4. Sometimes it's just better to agree to disagree.
5. Always set your clock a good 10 to 15 minutes ahead so you'll always be on time for any obligations.
6. A college education is essential.
